A New Breed of Entrepreneur is Emerging.
Social entrepreneurs are change agents, people who tackle the world’s most vexing social and environmental problems by harnessing business strategies.
SEcon2012 will focus on real-world examples of how businesses are using their core strengths, values, and people to help solve tough social problems in a manner that is aligned with business interests.
We expressly avoid labeling such efforts — as corporate social responsibility or business philanthropy, or even doing well by doing good. We will present the range of models of effectiveness to businesses and organizations with the goal of creating discussion to inspire collaboration and revolutionary thinking.
SEcon is a forum for current and future social entrepreneurs to converge, share tools, and advance ideas that work toward the coexistence of profit and purpose.
Attended by thought leaders in the industry, government, and academia, SEcon is open to all revolutionary thinkers seeking to inspire lasting change.
On the agenda at SEcon 2012, March 15-17:
- Roundtables aimed at developing actionable plans and implementation tactics
- High-level discussions moderated by thought leaders in social entrepreneurship from the business, government, not for profit, and academic sectors
- Social entrepreneurship strategy-building sessions
- Student presentations on socially entrepreneurial ideas
- Networking opportunities to facilitate partnerships for future projects
